Well, I finally have plans in place to go out on my own. The Hiller bus is slowly coming to a stop due to some piss poor planning and upper management along with high prices.
So, November 21st I take my LLE test. Limited liability electrical. This allows me to start a company and do any and all jobs under 25k. I have no plans on leaving hiller at the moment, but eventually that is the plan. There is so much work in my neck of the woods it's sickening.
So, should I name it badass electrical or asshole electrical?

Don't wait too long, study and get it done, then hire a good business manager to take care of billing, and the day to day bs with the state and feds. He/she will easily earn their way and allow you to do the bidding/work.

These tests are really interesting. It's really not about what you know, it's if you know where to find it in the book.

Sounds similar to the home improvement license test I took years ago. Had nothing to to do with your knowledge of the trades. It was all about knowing when, where and how you pay the State their cut. I paid for a cram coarse before the test. They took you through the book with a highlighter and paper clips. The test was open book.

It was open book. I went through the test and made my best guess and then went back to verify. 130 minutes is a lot shorter than I ever imagined...
